Brief Note:

The name DeLaCeiba is a tribute to a tree called La Ceiba of Ponce, Puerto Rico, where I grew up. For more than 500 years, this tree was a symbol of strength, wisdom, and protection with connections to Taíno and Afro-Caribbean culture. The Ceiba was massive, with a trunk measuring 118 feet in circumference.

The Ceiba died in 2021 after living more than 500 years on the banks of the Portugués River.

El nombre DeLaCeiba es un homenaje a la Ceiba de Ponce, Puerto Rico, donde me crié. Por más de 500 años este árbol fué símbolo de fortaleza, sabiduría y protección con conexiones a la cultura taína y afrocaribeña. La Ceiba era masiva, con un tronco de 118 pies de circunferencia.

La Ceiba murió en el 2021 después de vivir más de 500 a las orillas del Rio Portugués.‍ ‍
